Agri-Equest was called out to a very remote area just outside of Debach this week, when one of our forestry customers with a Wacker Neuson digger had gotten into a spot of distress.
Our onboard welder saved the day when the pins fell out of the thumb to arm mount and ram fixing.
The weeks are filled with a variety of jobs here at Agri-Equest, but this week John was able to come to the rescue of a loyal forestry customer who had come to a standstill in one of the many isolated areas of the Suffolk countryside was a good example of what can be done with our onboard welder in the new van.
The pins had previously been welded in, but the welds had cracked and the the pins were falling out on the 'thumb' to the arm mount and the ram fixing of this Wacker Neuson 120-2 with grab attachment. This forestry customer was working in a field in a particularly remote location just outside of Debach. And with the welds completely cracked and the pins falling out, he had understandably found his work for the day had come to a standstill.
The repair was a good test for the new vans onboard welder, an inverter powered Powerall, as we were limited to working on a beet pad in the middle of nowhere. Without the onboard welder, this job would have significantly eaten into the customers time to get the vehicle to us for repair. It's another example of the efficiency and importance of being able to solve a problem in-situ.
Always look on the bright side!
Despite being in the back of beyond, on a single beet pad in a muddy field; not only were we able to repair this vehicle in-situ saving lots of time and hassle for our customer, but the digger driver even managed to use the down time to take his Labrador puppy for a good run across the fields - so every cloud has a silver lining!
